Pottery & Pajama Parties

I just wanted to do a quick check-in on some possible NOG gatherings. I know Nancy is anxiously awaiting responses about our pottery date, so if possible, get back to her in the next couple days. Thanks for checking on all the details, Nancy! Sounds fun! (Though, like I told Nancy, I am a terrible artist, so it makes me nervous. I think I'll be going and checking things out a bit before our scheduled date!)

And for my second item, I wondered about setting a date for an overnighter. (Pajama party may sound a little middle school, but I really liked the alliteration!) At least a few have mentioned that they think it sounds fun. I thought if it worked out schedule-wise it could be a good way to celebrate at the end of our study in November. What are your schedules looking like on Friday, November 14? I'm thinking a Friday evening/Saturday morning thing...does that sound good? I'm also thinking it can be part spiritual reconnection and part just plain old fun! Ideas and thoughts welcome!

I bet I was the only one who knew this post was here before Beth sent the e-mail to inform us, wasn't I? I've always wanted to be best at something, so I guess I'll settle for "most frequent blog checker." :)

So I'm not sure why, when I'm in a season in which I could most use some time away, it never works for me to have time away. I'm trying hard not to feel resentful at this moment, but this is the 3rd girls' thing in the last several days that I've had to say no to. Steve's going to be out of town on Nov. 14, so I'll be a single mom home with kids again that week. If it turns out that a different date works better for others, too, I'll check our calendar again, but even then it's take a nursing baby or a breast pump along. (I think I read somewhere in this week's reading that complaining about my circumstances is sin.... so I should change the subject. Is disappointment a sin, too?)

Pruning, pruning, pruning. Good grief, my branches are pretty much bare already!

I too have to say that Friday doesn't work. The good news for me is that it's my annual weekend shopping trip with my college friend. The bad news is, even if we switch it to the weekend before or after, not sure I'd feel good about leaving two weekends in a row. Won't rule that out altogether, but I guess I'm saying don't plan around me.

And Tiff, I know it's not as relaxing for you, but you know we'd all be just fine having Tori come along.
